I wanted a charger to replace my old charger that would charge the battery and also boil the battery while charging and then shut off rather than interrupt. This new charger will charge them Well, then switch to trickle charging to keep the battery always charged. The bypass cable that came with the kit was very easy to connect to bypass the charging circuitry on the on-board computer.
