My mother has a very nice 1980's ceiling fan that was installed by a home builder who didn't have a lighting kit. Due to its age I had trouble finding a lightweight kit that would work with it. I was thinking of replacing the fan but the fan works fine. If I replace it, it's likely to end up in the trash because of its age, and I hate unnecessary trash. This lightweight kit was perfect for a fan. While I feel it was a little overpriced, it was cheaper than buying a new fan and the kit looks good with a bright overhead light. When the kit arrived the light balls were broken. I don't live in the same city as my mom and was only in town for a few days so I had limited time to install the kit and didn't have time to wait for a replacement. So I went to Lowe's and found the same globes that came with them. They cost me an additional $17.50. If it weren't for the broken balls I would rate it at least 1 star higher for value for money and overall rating.
