Like many others, I gave up my stupid DSLR and use my smartphone camera to shoot a lot of videos. It doesn't have glass, of course, but for most shots it doesn't matter. Rather than being able to keep the mic and light clear, this Ulanzi solves a lot of problems. It's plastic. He probably wouldn't survive a fall from two meters. But for $20, you can afford to buy two and still save money compared to expensive Facebook ads. Screwed straight into my bow tripods and slipped my Takstar mic straight into the top mount. The spring is quite strong and the rubber bushings hold the phone securely. My only issue was that I can't install my phone with a case - it's only for your thin phone. This can be an issue if you like to keep your phone clean and are prone to falls. Otherwise the thing rocks. Two months later, seven full location shoots and it's still like new.
