Very nice shade of brown. The hooks are short for the buckle part but still secure. The elastic is firm but they will stretch. I had no problem putting them around the narrower part of my waist and around my hips. I ring in about 135 to 140. Fashion sizing puts me in the med range or a 6-8 in US women's, but I like to size up for comfort. These have been working great at tucking some of the volume in on clothes that are really too big. They are a slim to skinny size belt so if you need them to fit through belt loops they should. But the ones with larger decorations for buckles don't fit in the smaller loops.
