Our dog almost destroyed our last sofa with his claws on his skin. We don't let her sit on the furniture at all but she will sit on it at every opportunity when we're not around, underneath etc. When we got the replacement sofa I wanted something to hold her. They're great - easy to throw on pillows and so far they've completely repelled them. They're pretty easy to place and take off too, and it's nice that they fold up. It hurts to do something like this, but it's worth protecting the furniture!
