The flash drive is as slow to write to as the poorest USB 2.0 drives. I snatched up 16GB for use in a USB 2.0 connector. Any USB 3.0 flash drive will be noticeably quicker than USB 2.0; I opted for this one because I was familiar with the brand and thought its aesthetic was rather attractive. So, I experienced something that wasn't the rule. While I could only achieve a write speed of about 4-5 Mb/s on USB 2.0, my neighbor's modern chipset with USB 3.0 allowed him to achieve speeds of up to 7 Mb/s. We first believed it was a wedding, but then we checked the Kingston website and discovered that this flash drive can record at up to 10mb/s. Whoever would require it is unknown to me.
