I have retrofitted the BMW Vario panniers and the difference is amazing. In my opinion one of the best boxes on the market. Installation and removal takes seconds. The build quality is good and the overall size is huge. There is a limit to the weight you must put inside. So don't be surprised if you think you can fill it with your heaviest gear. I installed mine on a BMW R1200GS which requires a custom high quality mount. This installation took a little more time and effort, but is far superior to the original plastic luggage rack from BMW. I have paired it with matching baskets and am very satisfied. The only problem is that you have to lock the drawers to take out the keys. It can be tedious at times, but overall there can be some wisdom in this design. This ensures that the case is always securely closed and is not accidentally left open or improperly attached to the bike.
