Good with non-Apple laptops. Annoying Quirks

Desktop for 2 additional monitors 2560x1440@60Hz. it harnesses the magic of MST/alternative displayport mode. So it doesn't need any drivers or Displaylink nonsense. great for performance. Image quality is good, but this largely depends on the graphics capabilities of the laptop. it is very portable. While it's plastic, it feels good enough and well built. Unfortunately, the extension cord has numerous quirks that make it a bit frustrating to use. The power strip behaves erratically when the laptop is idle. When waking up a laptop, the extension cord will not wake up the monitors normally in most cases. One or both monitors simply remain dark or even switch off completely. It's so unreliable that it just doesn't make sense to put the laptop to sleep when it's plugged in, as it only fixes unplugging and plugging it back in. multiple plug and unplug cycles per day I am concerned about the durability of the USB connector and ports. The reconnect does not always remember the position of the monitor. Sometimes I need to go back to the display properties and change the layout of the monitors. Reconnects also never remembers the position of the window. Every time all my active windows are restored to encrypted locations or moved all to one screen. These quirks can be a display driver bug, but with daily use of this extender, it becomes a chore. Good enough for what it's supposed to be. but I could look for another Displayport MST hub or dock with fewer quirks and return that.
