When I left work I found that my car battery was so weak that even the interior light wouldn't come on. I put in a makeshift battery and went home. I found my brake lights were on all the time. I recently pulled some audio equipment out of the trunk and ripped out the old cables. I was pretty sure I had damaged the brake cables in the process. In my whole life I could not find a short circuit or a problem. I don't know why I decided to check the brake pedal, but it was: small pieces of plastic under my pedal. The brake lever has a pin switch that rests against this stop. My old stopper broke, allowing the contact switch to remain open. I could have built anything that would fit in there, but I settled on one of these and it fixed my problem for good.
