My wife made me very angry because I spent so much money on a device that "shouldn't cost more than $40". Her words. So, against their will, I took the money and bought the rice cooker of my dreams. I made jasmine rice the first night we received it. More grumbling about how long it took to cook jasmine rice for an hour!?$&@? Not my best publicity stunt. But then I asked them to describe their experiences cooking rice with a cheaper stove. Uneven cooking, wet spots, etc. Fast forward an hour later. PERFECT RICE! The? BIG RICE! "It was worth the wait," she says. Next time we went to the store. "What other species should we try?" she asks. What about GABA brown rice? It's okay, we waited two hours for this game, but it was even better than the first one! What about muesli? (She's from Georgia) no problem; I even found a recipe for grits casserole in a rice cooker. What about steamed rice? Now she went outside alone. It seems we now have five different types of rice in our closet. Everyone has their own settings, and they all come out perfect. I no longer hear discussions about cheaper rice cookers that don't steam rice perfectly. This device delivers perfection and keeps rice for several days in the extended keep warm mode. I'm not kidding, five days! I can't say enough. Bottom line, spend your money. Take the big model. Discover new rice varieties. To smile! One of my best purchases.
