I tested both MonoPrice and this CableMatters active USB cable - works with Monoprice - but has noise in audio in RIFT headset - CableMatters cable doesn't work at all with RIFT Headset. I can see the power cord adapter cord protruding from the extension cord on the side of the unit, but that pretty much defeats the purpose of an extension cord! A separate power cord is connected from the side of the device, that is, two cords. if drive train long enough. On the COMPUTER side, if this was designed to provide extra power, it would make sense if you plug everything (USB + power) into one end and ALL you need to plug into the receiving end is a cable. but by design, the additional power supply is on the side of the device COMPUTER ---------> USB_Extendor ------------- ------------- ---- -------------> Device Power Connection ------------------------ --- - --- -------------------------------> Side USB extension plug. I would not recommend it for RIFT! I've tried this on all rear USB3 ports, both front ports and 2 different powered USB hubs - and none of them worked - Oculus Rift stays BLACK. As soon as I connected it directly or via the cheaper Mnoprice cable, everything worked again. As a RIFT extension cable, this cable is definitely not worth buying!
