I bought 16 Arducam cameras from Revain and another 30 from Arducam directly for my imaging project. Arducam is a useful product that fully standardizes the I2C and SPI bus digital camera interface, allowing users to focus on what to do with the captured images rather than how to get them. The processing is of high quality, all cameras that I received were fully functional. The organization that manages Arducam is active on GitHub, providing both software reference implementations and support for their users. The Arducam is simple enough to be easily used with the Arduino, but this simple interface means the Arducam is just as easy to integrate with other single board computers such as the Raspberry Pi and the Beaglebone Black. It's not just a camera for Arduino, it's a camera that, being easy to plug into an Arduino, can easily be plugged into any single board computer, either directly or through the Arduino if needed for a larger system with no impact is. SPI/I2C buses. In short, Arducam is a hardware-level digital camera turnkey solution. A simple process and not a dedicated engineering nightmare, this is the solution you need. I believe that as this "platform" develops, we will see an ever richer range of cameras using the Arducam chip, as well as the constant evolution of the features and capabilities of the Arducam chip itself. In my own application, Arducam has allowed me to integrate a large number of cameras without diving into implementation details, allowing me to focus on complex problems like building and training TensorFlow models with these images. For that reason alone, I would highly recommend these devices to anyone who wants to use digital cameras in their work. Arducam itself is a unique product, but its greatest value lies in the fact that it makes the cameras themselves a commodity, just another part of the project, not an axis to turn around.
