Review on Emerson Quiet Kool 5,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner – Efficient Cooling with Mechanical Rotary Controls by Denise Rose

I've had this for five very muggy days and am more than satisfied. It also worked well at night when the air outside was below 70 and humid. Super easy to use. Easy to install accordion style window brace/bracket. The right size for our room (about 120 square meters). The lowest temperature in the room was 68 degrees, which is definitely more than enough for us. I find it very calm; my son sleeps well with it. There's no remote control, no electronic controls, just the dial. It also comes with a GFCI connector like other air conditioners. It appears, but I have not confirmed, to be the exact same air conditioner as Haier, Frigidaire and other 5000 BTU models, just under a different brand name. I was pleasantly surprised that it comes with a foam insert to fill the air holes where it mounts. One year parts and labor warranty, two years parts only. It does not come with a stand to support its weight outside the window. It may not be necessary as it's relatively small for an air conditioner (I've never seen smaller ones). I made a prop out of wood to be safe in my 4 year old's room. I would also recommend a window stop for the bottom sash of the window to increase safety around children.
