It was really soft when we first got it. It pills pretty soon afterwards. It's thinner than I would like for a sofa cover. The color is bright red, peppery, almost scarlet, but neutral in tone, like a maraschino cherry, not orange. So it's almost a perfect red since I have a black/white/red theme. I would have preferred a slightly darker red. Like a dark cherry.
