When Merica Labz launched I was a huge fan of their art and branding (cool/funny names). While most of their products weren't super expensive, they were still more expensive than their competitors' products (energy drinks, pre-workouts, etc.). So I never bought anything. I came across an offer and decided to roll the dice. I ordered the following flavors: - Yosimite S'mores - Independence Cake - Double Filling - Fortuitous Keepsakes I tried the S'mores first. That's great. It tastes like hot cocoa and the tiny marshmallows are the best. The chocolate chips are good too, but most seem to end up on the bottom of my shaker cup (and I get a spoon to eat them when I pick up the kids before I put it in the dishwasher). I haven't baked with it yet but am looking forward to using it for ice cream and other dessert recipes. The double filling was not good. It reminded me of the bad taste of cookies and cream 15 years ago, when companies started releasing flavors that weren't chocolate or vanilla. I was in shock and that was it. I drank it not to drink it, but I stopped drinking. Next up was Independence Cake, and it was somewhere in between those two, but closer to Double Stuffing. The protein flavor itself wasn't terrible, but there are better cake flavors out there (*I'm not a big fan of birthday cake flavor in general for toppings though, so bear that in mind). The topping was cool and definitely amazing for visual effect, but not quite as good as marshmallows (both in flavor and texture). I think baking with it would be pretty cool, but I won't shake it again. Finally after trying these 3 (which I bought at the same time) I bet on Fortuitous Keepsakes. This is my second priority. Here, too, the marshmallow is the highlight and visually very appealing. For some reason the taste doesn't strike me as much as s'mores. I love drinking this one (bought it for £15) but for my taste buds, Yosimite S'mores is the absolute favourite. I also really like the profile of this protein. I think that's currently being overlooked by the emphasis on taste, which wasn't really an option for us. But each scoop at 25g of protein and an average calorie count is a big win. I usually settle for just isolates in order to get a product that doesn't have less protein per scoop or astronomical amounts of fat or carbs. I look forward to trying the rest of their products when I see them at their peers' competitive prices because I now look forward to my Yosimite S'mores shake after every session.
