Review on Simplicity Adjustable Plastic Sock Loom Kit: Convenient 4pc Set for Easy Sock Crafting by Gelin Battle

Update January 11, 2020: I have made 3 pairs of socks so far and am working on the 4th pair. I've used 3 different yarn counts and all is good. The second pair (zig zag) is a loose pattern on Ravelry called 'Tilt-a-whirl' and was made on this loom at Lake House using Red Heart Heart and Sole yarn. When I first bought this loom I was planning on buying a more expensive loom later if I like making socks and if I didn't the cost of this loom wouldn't be a huge loss but I don't feel the need for one other sock loom and would rather buy yarn than the more expensive sock loom. I found adjustability important because the tilt-a-whirl pattern knits more than a pair of green striped socks, this pattern uses fewer pins for the same sock size. This is a very fine sock loom, so very fine sock yarn is used. These socks are the very first thing I've ever knitted on the loom - or any other type of knitting, I have no knitting or crochet experience. This can be tricky for those used to thicker yarns, but I didn't know any better when I bought the loom and sock yarn, so I had no comparison. Making these socks took a while, the second one was a lot quicker than the first because I had an idea of what to do. The videos on KB's YouTube were very helpful in making these socks as the book I had wasn't intended for a completely clueless beginner and suggested some prior knowledge I didn't have. I don't recommend flat knitting as it gets too tight and makes knitting difficult. I used real jersey knit. Yes, slower, but the end result matters. Since then I've made another pair of socks and plan to make many more.
