Let there be light!

this little thing is fucking awesome. It's about 8 inches high and 2 inches wide, so it won't take up much space on your desktop. It works as described - a real-time audio spectrum analyzer converts sound into light. It is delivered assembled; You just need to connect the USB cable to the tower and the other end of the USB cable to the computer, and connect the 3.5mm splitter cable to the speaker output line. 4 stars because 1) the included instructions are in Chinese and are not very helpful. Fortunately, the same instructions can also be found on the product description page. This way you can copy, cut, paste and print them and you're done - I've also saved a copy to the cloud in case I ever lose my printed copy. 2) The USB cable is very short and the end of the 3.5mm connector - which plugs into the computer and branches off the USB connector - is only about 2 inches long. This limits connectivity. I have a headphone amp/DAC as an external sound card that outputs to my powered speakers. I was able to connect a splitter to the output jack and connect the device cable and speaker cable to my DAC/amplifier. But the length of the cable did not allow trying other configurations. This is not enough to simultaneously connect to the USB port on the back of the computer and the headphone jack on the front. The cable was also not long enough to fit on the right side of my computer or plug it into the front USB and headphone jacks and place the device on my desk where I can see it. I had to plug the USB into an external USB/card reader located on top of my computer, which robbed me of one of my USB 3.0 ports. So, depending on your desktop setup, this can be problematic. It may be possible to purchase a longer cable from the aftermarket - you'll need a micro USB to USB male + 3.5mm male - but it would be nice if a longer cable was included e.g. B. a 6 foot cable. Be routine to connect two devices together. You will need 2 free USB ports and 2 free headphone ports, although I believe if you are using a headphone amp you can use a splitter to send audio through both devices on the same port. You will then need a longer cable for the second device. However, for what it is and at this price point, it's a pretty fun gadget that brightens up listening to music a lot on dull days. I can't wait to use it at night. I haven't tried all the features, just tested with the default settings so I can edit this review afterwards. EDIT: It's obviously possible to split the audio channels to Stereo R/L, which you can do if you have two devices. You still need to figure out the input situation and get a micro USB splitter and a longer cable. I can finally do it. This unit also looks the same as another seller's that costs more. Apparently it's possible to split the audio channels into right and left stereo, which is something you might want to do if you have two devices. Pros
  • Great visual effects: 16-segment golden ratio design and 6-color LEDs of red, yellow, green, blue, orange and pink bring great visual effect. It is also an adorable and beautiful artistic decoration.
