I purchased the iTouchless 16 Gallon Dual Step Trash Can & Recycle Bin. This version came with two 8 gallon cans, one black for trash and one blue for recycling. We recycle a ton, so I previously needed 2 full size trash cans to manage it all for a family of 5. The cans did not fit in the designated space in our new house, so I needed a more compact solution to our problem. We decided to use a portion of our stimulus to just go ahead and buy this one. The measurements fit our space and the unit has 2 receptacles. Now that it is here and set-up, I'm having a bit of buyer's remorse over the cost, and continued costs this item will incur.Pros -Soft closeDent free - ours came enclosed in StyrofoamRelatively easy to put trash bags in - no ballooning up due to the bag notch in the canCompact - takes up less room than 2 separate cansAdmittedly looks really nice (as long as no one touches it, see below)Cons -It may be soft close, but it is a HARD open as you can see in the videoIt is NOT smudge proof! You can see how grimey it is in the photos and that's after only 24 hours! I have 3 kids, so while I wasn't expecting the can to be perfect, I had really hoped it would at least helpIt hasn't happened yet, but when someone spills something on the metal opening arm inside, its going to be hell to clean.I appreciate the odor eliminating system, but I don't love that I paid $142 for this unit and now have to buy filtersOverall, I still feel ridiculous having paid this much money for a garbage can, but that's clearly a personal problem. I do wish that the bins were larger, I'd love to have a 13 gallon can on each side. We don't create too much trash, but the recycling side fills up very quickly.
