The cat is already a year old and fully grown. He slept in it after being outside all night and day. I didn't know he was in an elephant. I think he still fits there. Original rating. Beautiful and strong. We sit on it without worrying. The cat likes to play with tusks. We have a 6 month old kitten so he is still small but he comes in sometimes. Haven't seen any wear from playing yet. It goes well with our decor and can be used as an ottoman or extra seat if needed. The interior is not that big. I don't think this is intended for big cats like Maine Coons.
