This is the second LG Gram 17 laptop I have bought and they are both very good! The LG-Gram 17 is so light I can pick it up off the couch with one hand. Because of this, I often use it without the lap table. However, I will note that the upgraded Gram-17 is slightly warmer on my lap than the previous model, as the 2021 version has been redesigned with heat dissipation on the bottom rear of the device. An SSD is much faster - I bought mine with a 1TB drive, but you can get a 2TB drive for about $100 more. The laptop hinges have also been improved. The LG Gram-17 is now equipped with the 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 chip, which is AMAZING! Plus, it now has an EVO rating, which is an improvement over the laptop's already impressive battery life! Please note that the Gram-17 does not come with a touchscreen and I have read numerous reviews that this is not the type of laptop you would want to buy if you are a gamer. The screen is nice but very glossy. So if you work in a brightly lit room or office, you might want to consider a matte screen protector. As a newspaper editor, this laptop is great for everything from web browsing and photo editing to working with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher. I'm testing Windows 11 Beta and Gram-17 runs the updated OS without errors. I've been using a Mac since the mid 80's and currently own an M1 Mac mini and a Macbook Air as well as a 16" Intel processor MacBook. Professional.
