We moved into our house last December and the stairs scared me immediately as we are 14 months old. This is a center entry so the sofa had to be placed in front of the railing, although I must add that the previous owners did not place the railings at the minimum distance from each other. I could walk through them. This network perfectly solved the problem and looks great. I ordered the brown net. The width covered perfectly and I only had to cut about 12 inches. Note, however, that if you're thinking of using this on a center entryway without a rail-locking couch, you'll either need to buy two nets or find one that's longer because there's a gap at the bottom. Mesh to the bottom, that's about 12 inches. This works great for us because our sofa covers the gap.
