Brittany needles are amazing. I was forced to buy a pair when my local yarn store didn't have Chiao Goo in the size I needed. I like metal on some things, but I like wood on most things. Since Brittany tends to be more expensive than bamboo, I kept buying straight bamboo yarns until one of my straight bamboo ends snapped and broke, snagging and ruining the wool section I was knitting. Now I always buy Brittany with my glasses on. They are very strong which is great for heavy knitters like me (I break and/or bend a lot of bamboo single and double needles). The yarn glides perfectly over these needles, even if it is thin. I've also found that the needle seems to go through the yarn less when I use Brittany and they even hold up great for hours. (Now I knit 11 scarves to thank people for coming to help my mom get her chemo this year. My hands hold a Brittany of one size or another at least 5 hours a day and I had no cramps or spasms in my hand Fatigue The lack of stiffness could also be due to the size of the needles I used, but I think that should be given to Brittany's credit as well). Source. Cheers for using a tree that can be easily replenished.
