I've been using it for about two weeks now and I love it. I used to fill a large measuring cup and inflate it to boil water. I then brewed tea bags in it for a while until it cooled. Pour into my 1/2 gallon milk pitcher and add more water. I drink a TON of iced tea so if I don't refill it in time it gets a bit heavy. (Yes, first world problems!) This method only takes a few minutes to make a ready-to-eat 1/2 gallon. We have an ice machine so this part is pretty easy. But I've read that cold water can also be used, just don't fill the pitcher to the ice line. I played around with the number of tea bags and settled on 6 black and 2 mint teas. With the old method, I used exactly half, but it took a lot longer to brew. This combination gives me the same depth and color. We belong to BJ, so buying tea bags in bulk is not a problem. In the future I will experiment with loose tea and use a coffee filter (which is perfect). In general I highly recommend it. Can't speak to the longevity yet, but so far I'm really enjoying it!
