Kuryakyn bag 5285 Momentum Vagabond is complete bullshit. I lost a lot of respect for Kuryakin as a motorcycle accessories supplier. Under no circumstances should anyone purchase this product. Value for money: nothing to say. ($220) on manufacturer's website. For around $200, you're much better off buying the raw materials and developing your own custom solution. helpful suggestions for installation or configuration. The mounting straps on a sissy bar are a nightmare to install and almost useless. Even for a relatively thin sissy bar, the bottom strap is too narrow. The straps are difficult to tighten or loosen at best, and their design is worse than terrible. While there are a few mounting points for additional mounting options, most of these are redundant and none of them offer the perfect configuration. Waterproof: Within ten minutes (maximum) between the onset of moderate rain and the location of the covered transition area, the bag's contents were completely soaked. Again, the included cover defies common sense and is totally incompatible with the sissy bar mounting system. The stitching on the cover is of poor quality and immediately began to unravel with the slightest tightening. Additional issues: the bag is extremely bulky to carry, and the allure of a quick-release luggage that can be carried off the bike is utterly delusional. There is no convenient way to lock the bag or the bike itself. Badly thought out spatial distribution. While the top pocket is practical, the rest of the compartments are poorly designed at best and don't allow for convenient distribution of contents. The inner mesh pockets are inferior, almost useless and offer little added value. The "semi-rigidity" is ridiculous, and the bag deforms instantly, despite the careful distribution of the mass and volume of the contents. The coasters are very small, and given the bag's tendency to slip around quickly, they're unlikely to hold a 20-ounce bottle. Effective. The bag creates a very bad "back" and is extremely uncomfortable when driving. To be honest, I preferred to just attach the backpack to the bike with elastic cords. Kuryakin makes great swivels, but this purchase made me extremely suspicious of the rest of their line. I couldn't be more disappointed with my purchase. I doubt I will use Kuryakyn products in the future.
