As all the reviews for all flavors of this product are mixed (number of mounts, freestanding/grommets/C-clamps etc) I will start by pointing out that I have a 4- Arm C-clamp mount. I started with two monitors for my PC and combined my entertainment on this desk, so I added a third monitor with an HDMI switch for my consoles and Roku. This was already taking a toll on my available space as three monitors wouldn't really fit all in a row on this desk, which ended up taking up a lot of space that went unused on the desk surface. Then I got a second computer with a different display and officially ran out of space. I had a monitor on a TV tray in front of my filing cabinet. I generally trust the freestanding more than the C-Clip as the strength of the bolt is basically all that holds your stuff so the freestanding base just feels more secure, especially since most of us have fiberboard tables made with wood shavings and glue. However, I'm unlikely to have enough room to mount a freestanding base, so I went with a C-clamp. I didn't see any reviews like "It fell apart like a Chinese motorcycle and now I've got 4 broken monitors" so I was pretty confident. Two of my monitors already had VESA mounts, but each seems to have their own mounts. Version of what standard mounting hardware should be. The arms on my old stand weren't wide enough to fit the new mount, so I guess it's just a minor annoyance. A quick hardware swap before attaching the other two panels to the other two monitors is done. So after spending about five minutes figuring out the intricacies myself, since the instructions are fairly basic and don't even cover things like attaching the top half of the center pole, I loosely attached my hands and the two halves of the vertical pole are assembled. It's already tilted forward a degree or two. Considering the weight of the mount itself, that's probably not surprising, but it makes me nervous about actually putting displays on it. So the bottom half seems pretty stable. I put one monitor on the left and walked away for a good 35 seconds before coming back with the second monitor and putting it on, so it worked. I didn't want to risk the above ones, though, so I asked a friend to install one at the same time as the other. Now this thing is tilted about 4.5 degrees and has 30 pounds of weight on it, which I have to admit is a little annoying considering the physics multiplies the weight as you move away from the center. He'll have to lean further, so hopefully he'll just stay put. I'll be honest and say that this mount gets 1 star and a drastic rating adjustment if it fails because it will break at least $2,000 worth of things in a disaster. In general I like it. I can be very lazy on my days off and don't even have to turn my chair to get all the entertainment I want. A few tips on using this product.
