Review on Cuisinart CFP-9GMPCY 9-Cup Food Processor - Gunmetal: Efficient Kitchen Appliance for Easy Meal Preparation by Jerry Anderson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works well but not as strong as my old Kitchenaid

Was looking for a new stand mixer to replace my old Kitchenaid (KA) 9 cup, powerful and quiet which I really liked. The base of the KA engine was still fine, but the plastic shell and lid were cracked and replacement parts were no longer available. I use my food processor several times a week to make hummus, dates and nutty "truffles", chop or mince veggies, etc. This new food processor is easier to clean than the old KA, especially the lid. The knife is very sharp and the shredding disc is sharp and works very well (I haven't tried the cutting blade but I expect it to be sharp too). The rear hatch is large and it is easy to load potatoes in without cutting them. The device is quite quiet. However, it's not as strong as my old KA and not as effective. It takes longer to cook a smooth hummus, although you'll get a good, even hummus. I think it does a decent job for the price and size, but if you're looking for a powerful device, pay more and get more.

  • Everything great!
