I really wanted this collar as everything was perfect, durable, nice material, 3/4 inch, strong D-rings, color looks new (hand wash once) except for the LARGE one Violation of the terms of the transaction. I have had this collar for my standard poodle (medium emerald color) for over 6 months now. There is one major problem with the design of this traditional martingale, the "loop" is TOO SMALL which defeats the purpose of the martingale. I understand why some reviews have had trouble sticking to their pets and abusing traditional martingales. This collar will only prevent a dog from escaping if it is too tight on the dog. Luckily I haven't had a single run with my dog and I keep him fairly loose so I can throw him over my head if need be. Conventional martingales should go slightly over the head, and when on a leash they cannot slip out of the collar. Highly recommend looking elsewhere for a real traditional martingale or just getting a choke collar because that's what you get with THIS collar or a lost dog.
