Long story short these hooks successfully hold an 8 foot ladder in my garage. Long story short, the rubber coating is durable and adds a little extra padding to prevent getting scratched. The orange ones are bright and I don't want them hanging in my living room, but you won't accidentally run into them without seeing them. Which I think is more important. I would suggest mounting them on studs if you want to hold something heavy. The included screws are fine for this, but I wouldn't put too much faith in just mounting it with drywall standoffs.
