At first I liked the wooden toilet seat but unfortunately after 6-7 weeks of use it smells really bad. I thought we had a problem with the plumbing in the toilet or maybe a problem with our seal - I decided to buy another toilet seat to see if that was the cause and now there is no smell or problem! There must be something in the trim of the seat we bought from this company in early July that combines cleaning products and urine smells. I got so sick every time I walked into our bathroom! Anyway, I'm a cleanliness freak and I'm too good at smelling. We bought 3 original Mayfair toilet seats in December 2017. I had to buy another one in July because I accidentally sprayed Clorox on the wood seat and it ruined the finish. Our original seal was out of stock so I had to buy an upgraded Mayfair seat for more. It's not a problem, but I can't figure out why the seat odor has gotten so bad after only 6-7 weeks of very regular cleaning. Now I had to buy a Kohler seat and finally my toilet got rid of the smell! Is there a guarantee I can ask? Thanks for any help!
