We are using these as PLATE coasters to keep the hot dinner plates up off the wood table. No need for a tablecloth or ugly placemats. They look decorative when just sitting alone on the table and they don't show when the plates are on top of them- you are able to decorate the table any way you like! These are perfect for our needs and they are the most reasonable price -wise out there. They are not going to fall apart like cloth and if they were to get dirty- just pop them in the sink.
