I read the reviews and ordered a size up for my little 9 year old. The belt was so tight that I had to cut it off with scissors so she could wear pantyhose when she performed. The Danskin fit is much more precise in sizing with a more comfortable waistband. (By comparison, my daughter is 33 percentile for height and 22 percentile for weight for a 9-year-old, and 12 was TOO SMALL.
