I enjoy a small shot of very good single malt whiskey once or twice a year. This Scotch costs over $100 a bottle. The problem is that air degrades the quality of tape over time, and one bottle can last for several years. How to protect this expensive tape from the harmful effects of the air? I displace the used Scotch with these glass beads, raising the liquid to the level of the cork and leaving almost no air in the bottle. These spheres fit easily into the neck of a standard 750ml bottle. I measured the displacement - a bag of these spheres displaces 150ml of liquid. So it would take about five sachets to squeeze all the air out of a nearly empty bottle (seven sachets displace exactly 750ml, but the scotch is placed between the scoops, so five sachets is enough for a nearly empty bottle). the cost of whiskey and the cost of balls, that's not a problem. This works equally well with fine wine or other oxygen sensitive liquids. While I don't care about the exact "roundness" of these balls, I rolled a few of them on a flat glass surface and they rolled straight and evenly. TRUE.
