Big intentions, little time to implement

I thought this helmet would be great for my 6 year old who regularly rides up to 15 miles of Northwest singletrack, as well as beginner and slalom jumps. I liked the design and the fact that it's really light. The reviews seemed pretty good. This is where the helmet started to fail: - The fit was an issue. I've spent my life as a professional in the outdoor adventure industry and have owned a variety of helmets since the 90's - this helmet wouldn't sit properly on his head and unless I had a really (too) tight strap for my chin, it would like to slide back and expose his forehead, and the chin guard would slide over his eyes. Related to this issue, the straps/straps slide too easily through the adjustment sliders above the ears so they just slide back no matter how you adjust the tension. The protective mask does not come off easily. There are no instructions and I didn't want to break it so we never took it off. I knew this helmet wasn't meant for hardcore riding and bought it with that in mind. But with the fit and overall design, it had many flaws and lacked features that made me feel comfortable letting my kid ride anything other than grass. gave him a Bell Super 3R MIPS. It was expensive, but like everything else, it's cheap insurance and, in my opinion, the best way out for parents.

Pros
  • Kids helmets
Cons
  • Doubtful
