What a great concept! Many multicooker recipes start on the "high" setting for a short time and then switch to the "low" setting for an extended period of time. It's a brilliant idea to create a slow cooker that automatically switches between them without intervention. And it would be a great product to have the Hamilton Beach Quality Assurance department involved in the design process. Pros: The large size allows you to process roasted meat and whole chickens. almost anything you want to cook. The snap-on lid reduces spills. Cons: Super short power cord (about 2 feet long) is a nuisance. The digital displays are NOT backlit during programming, meaning you will need a flashlight - during the day! - Watch what you're doing. Worst of all, it regularly shuts down if you touch or move it after you've started it. Messages in Hamilton Beach for help, repair or replacement were ignored by the company. Comment: Multicookers should be set and forgotten so you can ignore them until they finish cooking in 6-8 hours. Given the occasional shutdowns and the need to keep checking it to make sure it's still working, this product fails to meet the need. Conclusion: hands off this multi-cooker. This is a big disappointment. --------------------------- Update #1 (April 28, 2020): As Hamilton Beach added a comment asking me been able to contact them, To resolve the issue I called the toll free support number and received a record that phone support was unavailable due to the Coronavirus emergency. It is not yet clear when support will be resumed. Another attempt to solve the problem will be made in the future. Update #2 (July 7, 2020): I've given up contacting customer service. I will avoid Hamilton Beach products in the future.
