For many years we used Scott toilet paper to save money, but in March 2013 we switched to Charmin. A few weeks after doing this, our leakage slowed down. We've just decided it's time for a rollout as it's been a long time. Pumping worked for several months, then the outflow slowed down again. We tried everything: bleach (very bad, I know, but we were desperate); baking powder with vinegar and/or citric acid; sodium hydroxide; Drano; liquid plum; various enzyme products including Roebic Main Line Cleaner, SGP, conventional septic tank, emergency supplies; Gypsum over the drainage field (we have stony clay soil in our area); and reducing water consumption. Nothing worked until I found the Roebic Leach and Drain Field Opener Concentrate. realized it was Charmin toilet paper. (A quick web search confirmed that this is a common problem.) So last month we switched to Angel Soft. This time, at the first sign of the drain slowing down, I immediately went to Revain to order another drain field opener. I saw this item and thought I'd give it a try because it costs about $4 less and also handles 1500 gallons. Yesterday afternoon our toilet didn't even flush and the shower flooded after the water ran for a minute. We dumped the entire bottle of this concentrated product down the drain late in the afternoon and before bed the toilet flushed like a dream. Roebic is the best and only septic service brand that has worked consistently for us and our 24 year old septic system. I always keep a bottle or two in reserve for future emergencies.
