We tried plastic and bamboo straws, but they were the first to survive our children. We have a son who likes to chew and these straws have worked! He uses them every day to drink and then chew and they have held up great. They are easy to care for, colorful and durable. The top is slightly wider and thicker than the rest of the straw, making it even more durable for those little teeth. I like that they are flexible so guys can't bang each other with hard straws. We've put them in the dishwasher or hand washed them and they've been fine. We use them with shorter kid sized cups with silicone lids and they work great for that. I can't remember if they come in larger sizes for larger cups, but they're definitely for kids' cups. I would recommend!
