As my first surveillance system, I wasn't sure how difficult it would be to set up. I'm a technician and although I've never run cables or run cables through walls I can say that this is the hardest part of the installation. Once you have completed this step, the rest of the setup will be easy. I've done a lot of research and through my research I've always found experts and generally people who own a camera system who say it's better to have a wired system. compared to WiFi. While I won't cover all the benefits, some don't worry about battery life, wireless network security, and how it affects your network's performance. After running the cables to this DVR, the installation was very simple and easy. Although some of their menus look complicated for navigating through the various settings (they have many features), they guide you step-by-step to set up your cameras the way you want them. Of all the features, my favorites can choose which areas of the camera I want the camera to ignore movement and the cameras to actually be a containment system. For example, if you put a camera on your front door to record movement, you can set it to ignore any movement from passing cars (a very nice addition). Since it is a 4k surveillance system, the picture is fantastic. The cameras are rated for 30ft night vision and I can safely say they can achieve that while still maintaining a sharp image. It starts to get grainy after 30 feet, but depending on how you set up your cameras, another camera can make up for that range. one. Setup is easy, the picture is great, and it can even scare off a thief with a siren when it comes down to it!
