Review on ๐Ÿ”’ Enhanced DeadEyeVR Wrist Straps for Oculus Quest/Rift S (Black Quest 2): Improved Security and Comfort by Jennifer Jackson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

An inexpensive modification of the belts can be made yourself.

For $15 you basically get two fake black Wii remote straps. It'll only cost you a few bucks on eBay and even Revain, so you're paying double or triple the price of straps for an out-of-the-box feature: two cheap 3D-printed plastic inserts that wrap around part of the strap. Cables to hold the straps firmly in the Rift S' touch controllers. I have two problems with this. The first problem is that now that I know how these straps work I will definitely buy two cheap fake straps that are the same quality and then conjure up my own solution using super glue and scrap plastic. The markup DeadEye VR is charging for their product is absurd if you ask me. The second problem is that my straps came out of the box broken. The left strap's plastic insert came out of the pocket in two pieces and detached from the strap. I wouldn't trust my Rift S controllers dangling from these straps and being supported only by plastic, not even for a second. Sometimes doing a little DIY is better than paying someone a proportional amount of money to do it for you. This is one of those moments.
