Good but hard to read screen

Updated November 2021. I have had the G+ GPS bike computer for a year now. Some additional disruptive factors: The device is now dangling from the holder. It's so loose that if I hit bumps while riding, the device falls off the mount. The bracket is not broken but covered with a very fine powder. On my tricycle, the additional mount places the unit about three inches from the top of the left front wheel; It appears as if road grit is getting into the mount and scratching the flanges on the mount and on the back of the device, resulting in a loose connection that allows the device to bounce on the mount and sometimes come loose. I will need to replace the mount but due to the wear and tear of the mount flanges on the unit I doubt this will fully fix the issue. There also seem to be some software issues with the device. Sometimes the device just turns off; In this case, all recorded training sessions will be lost. When syncing the device with the XOSS app on my phone, recorded workouts don't always appear as new workouts; In this case I have to disconnect the device and then reconnect to the phone app before new workouts are visible. Synchronizing daylight saving time or winter time is problematic; although the XOSS app on the phone is configured to sync the time on the device according to the time setting on the phone, the time on the device will be incorrect until the time setting on the XOSS app on the phone is reset; This must be done whenever there is a changeover to or from daylight saving time. As of January 2021, I have owned this G+GPS bike computer for about two months. I don't have any sensors connected to it (like speed or cadence). Basically I wanted to track speed, time cycle and distance; and do it satisfactorily. The first thing you need to do is create an XOSS account for G+ to work. When I first found out I needed to create an account with a Hong Kong based company I almost decided to return G+, but in the end I decided to create an account to give it a try. I use G+ on a recumbent trike; It attaches to the accessory mount about 12 inches above the left wheel axle. This keeps my eyes about 30 inches from the G+ screen, and the poor contrast of the dark gray numbers against the screen's light gray background makes it impossible to read the smaller numbers on the screen while driving and only in bright sunlight. Speed is difficult to see. So speed is pretty much the only thing I can see while driving, and I have to stop to read any of the other data screens. That wouldn't be a problem if I could mount the G+ closer to my face, like on a bike. The mounts that came with the G+ do not fit my glider's accessory mount; Additional rubber grommets are not provided to accommodate different diameters of possible attachment points. I had to wrap the bushings myself for the included fasteners to work. While the device records the data I'm interested in satisfactorily, once I've stopped recording a ride or workout, nothing about the ride can be viewed on the G+ itself. Trip data must be downloaded to your phone in order to view it. So overall, while reasonable, I'm not overly impressed with G+.

Cons
  • Poorly thought out
