Pack of 6 pieces: 4 sides, roof and bottom. You will receive instructions, screws and a blanket. When I opened the box, I was greeted by a pleasant "pine" scent. the color really stands out (mine was blue) and I'll admit the pieces seemed a bit sophisticated at first; as if I was afraid I might break it if not held properly or dropped. after all, it wasn't like that at all. Instructions are crystal clear. You will need pliers, a screwdriver and a helping hand. First I started on all four sides. then i just lay on the floor. I'm not sure but I think you can attach the base with nails (not supplied) but in all cases just lay down the base and a nice little blanket if you like. Now comes the roof. I needed a helping hand here but if you are creative you can do it yourself. I would suggest screwing the hinge to the roof piece first (it was easy for me to screw the hinge on a flat surface) and then screwing the roof to the box itself. Here I used my helping hands to hold the roof in place while I screwed the roof onto the crate, and finally screwed the remaining hinges onto the crate. And everything is ready! The main reason I brought this was because I love my street cats and because our Texas cold front can be a bit violent. Also, the box is really cute and the heart holding the door closed speaks for itself. I don't really know how weatherproof it is (only 1 day owned) or how warm it will keep my cats, so I lined the bottom with the packing foam that comes with the box. In addition to the very thin blanket that comes with the set, I also included a beach towel for extra warmth. Maybe in time I'll buy a heating pad. As beautiful as it is, I'll end up covering it with a tarp to keep out water and damage. I have two adult cats. one uses it more than the other, but both can fit if pressed against each other. So far it's definitely worth buying and seeing my cats use this is money well spent.
