Review on πŸ’§ Homewerks VBV P40 E5B Schedule Solvent 1 Inch: Enhanced Plumbing Solution for Your Home by Michael Keitt

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Tight action and weak grips. I do not recommend.

Bought 9 of these in early 2015 to renew the plumbing in my pool. The product arrived quickly and in good condition, but I would not buy these valves again. As other reviewers have noted, the valving action is EXTREMELY stiff and the grip material (blue in photo) EXTREMELY thin. Before installing the valves I used silicone grease (Jack's) to lubricate the mechanism internally but this had little effect on the function of the valve. About a year and a half has passed since installation, and the commonly used handles are all cracked. I have tried holding the valve handle together with a pipe clamp but this is ineffective as the space between the handle and the valve body is too narrow for the clamp to fit. As the handles break, the plastic stem is now exposed at the valve. If I use metal pliers or a wrench to turn it, I start to round the shank, making it much harder to open and close. As anyone who has replaced these types of valves knows, you have to cut the PVC to install new ones. This requires unions and makes the job messy if you don't have enough PVC length. real Pi. The manufacturer should provide replacement grips or redesign the device to make it easier to use and more reliable. Despite the low price, I cannot recommend it. UPDATE: Contacted manufacturer who sent replacement valves. Same bad design but still impressive customer support. I would like to be able to update the review based only on the good performance of the warranty.
