Like anyone who has upgraded a trailer, van, bus or small house you still need 12vdc as it is too expensive to upgrade everything to 24vdc, lighting and such. I went with an 80 amp converter because I don't think I need more. Typical consumers are only lights and mostly control circuits for refrigerators and the like. The greatest load falls on the front chassis. And it required 50 amps, so I just wanted an 80 amp converter. And it's just me and my puppies, so I know how to handle my burden. If you're not sure what to get, 80 amps is a pretty safe place to start, but if you want a bit of security, go for 100 or more. Also, most 12 volt devices work better at slightly higher voltages. 13.8 is an excellent voltage. I had a small adjustable buck converter that worked with my 12 volt components for a while and found 14.5 volts to be optimal for most of them, but everything works better at 13.8.
