Review on BOYA M1 Lavalier Microphone: Enhance Audio Quality for Smartphones, DSLR Cameras, Camcorders, PC & More by Victor Garro

Be careful when inserting the battery. . .

Costs under $20 so I think it's good value for money. It's well built with a good strong clip and a good long cable. But be careful when inserting the battery. It doesn't slide easily, and if you press on it, you can bend and damage the small spring inside the compartment. So carefully tilt the battery - with the curved side to the spring. This is a tricky little task, so take your time with it. It took me three tries to line it up so I could get it all the way in. (There's also a pesky little piece of black tape - presumably to make battery removal easier. But the tape just gets in the way. Just pull it to the side and it makes battery installation easier (I ended up just cutting the tape and it did helped There is very little confusion but it's not a big deal It's acceptable quality but the built in mic in your smartphone is better Same as most lavaliers and shotguns for $50 and up So if If you have a high- end video you should give up this product and spend at least 3x your money on something with cleaner and clearer sound (worth it in the long run) A huge improvement over the sound of your laptop's built in mic Tel buy it for these goals . . . .

Pros
  • High quality condenser microphone, ideal for video recording, low noise level
Cons
  • Only available in black
