Not a big fan of the wicked version. I write a lot of letters to my wife and prefer the wickless version for two reasons. 1) the wicks tend to die out. This kind of wax is not intended to keep a candle burning. You have to hold it at just the right angle to keep the wax melting without the flame going out. 2) Because the flame is so weak, it takes a while to get enough wax melted to use a seal. so parts if it will dry out before you have enough to seal. I like the wickless version and I just use one of those small round white candles and a wax melting spoon. Then I cut a small chunk, let that melt while I write the letter and its ready to go by the time I finishOther things to note, if you use a lot of wax, it will obscure any writing on the opposite side of the paper. Has tendency to bound very tight, and will more than likely tear when trying to open. For this reason, I use it on the envelope and not the letter itself.
