They work. They're definitely magnetic. But, they're not nearly as strong as the advertised "Holding Power is not Less than 18 lbs per Magnet with Direct Touch and Direct Pull." When I tried to hold up a screwdriver as pictured with a single magnet, it kept falling. And no, I don't mean it slipped down over a long period of time. It would hardly hold it for a few seconds. And this screwdriver was .25 lbs, nowhere near 18 lbs. I tried the same with other screw drivers, multiple knives of different types of steel, etc. And none of them held unless they were only a couple ounces. However, when it put two magnets together, it did end up holding the screwdrivers and knives. So I imagine if I were to put all the magnets together, it may equal 18lbs, but it's definitely not "18lbs per magnet"
