Fits loose but I know the shell will grow into it. Looks super cute and is well made. There are no problems with the adjustment mechanism. Bought at 5 months, fits great, still fits now at 7 months, has room to grow. Sits well on the head, does not fall off. The width and length of the cap is perfect!
