I'm a 5'9" male and weigh 272 pounds and ordered a size XL as someone is around 20 pounds. smaller than my ordered size and they said it would have to be a much taller person to order size XXL. I'm glad I followed her advice and only got the size XL. This is perfect for me. I suspect if I had gained 285 pounds that would have been the maximum weight I could weigh and still fit myself. When I say my weight I mean fat like a giant gut and unfortunately no muscle if that helps you get an idea of my body's size and shape. Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to test it in the rain yet, but given its construction I expect very good performance. I wanted to throw my 2 cents into the sizing issue in case the info might be useful to others of a similar size and shape. The legs are a bit long but I don't find them long enough to be an issue. I would order it again without hesitation as long as it works properly and keeps me dry in the rain and I see no reason why it shouldn't. If after using it in the rain it doesn't do that important job I'll update my review to cover that. If there is no update for this test for 30 days, you know it performed well in the rain.
