Clear window prevents accidental switch position change
I have LensCoat coatings on all my telephoto lenses to protect them from inclement weather and impact. This works fine. One of the things I like about it is the little transparent window on the lens switches. The window prevents accidentally changing the switch position, but allows me to quickly see how it's set.
