The problem was only with one shoe, but it was extensive: Both shoes fit and worked well for the first two months or so, until the left heel plate/faucet came off. I put the screw back in, but about a week later it fell out again. My teacher then tried to insert the screw but found that it was originally screwed in so deep that it pierced the sole of the boot. Since then, the screw has completely disappeared, another one followed. The plate now swings freely because it is connected with only one screw. This appears to be a defect as there was no problem with either the other pad or the other disk on the failed pad. I would return the pad and get a replacement but the return window closed before the problem became apparent.
