Built like a tank and won't blow away.

I am very glad that I bought this rug. We hunt A LOT, and since we always have to clean our shoes and boots when we come in the back door, I needed a good outdoor rug that would clean our boots and last long outdoors. I bought a regular black rubber mat with protruding rubber fingers. They work perfectly, but after 1-2 months all the rubber fingers start to break off. They go all over the back porch, making their way around the house and rendering the carpet unusable. It also needs to be flipped over to drain the water every time it rains and blow it away when it's windy. I researched and found a dura mat and couldn't be happier. It cleans a little less aggressively than the old mat and I recommend using a soft matte surface rather than hard rubber, but the durability and weight of this item is incredible. It's very heavy, very thick, doesn't blow away in the wind, doesn't retain water, dries quickly in the rain and I think it'll last a long, long time outside. Even the street wildcat likes to lie down on it. :) I think the extra money was worth it since I don't have to change this mat every few months. As I said before, it can clean shoes a little less aggressively than other mats, but that doesn't bother me. In the summer, when everything is dry and all you have to do is shake the sand off your shoes before going in, everything works perfectly.
